Buyer Beware

28th August 2010

It was a good series but this is the last one I will buy because it was BORING! There were no new ideas or interesting concepts. It took me 1 month to read it when I usually read a new novel every 2 to 3 days.

What's really going on

27th August 2010

I started this series last christmas during my christmas break at college. I went home and brought Marked with me. I orginally bought Marked the summer before school started, but never got around to it. Christmas break came and i knew i would need something to do while being at home. I started Marked and immediately went to Books-A-Million the day i finished that book and bought the next four books. They were out of Tempted so i ordered it through amazon when i made it back to my apartment. I could not put down these books. It was a drug and i was hooked. I was to the point to where i was close to naming the "House of Night Novels" my favorite Book Series. That all changed when i read Tempted. That book dragged all the way up until page 310. When i hit page 310 i was back into it full throttle. The only problem was that it ended 19 pages later. So i was like yeh okay i get it explain everything that was going on after the big show down and then leave me wanting more. I can handle that so long as Burned picks back up like the first five books that were good. I WAS DEAD WRONG. This book went on and on and on and on and i think you get my point. I won't even waste my time telling you about the book because there really isnt anything to tell. Zoey spends all her time in the spirit realm and i was fed up after about the first ten or so of zoey's chapter's(Each chapter is about a character). The only thing that kept me going was Stevie Rae's adventure and that stopped 3/4 into the book. I toughed it out because i really was hoping that this would be different then Tempted. I think that because the first five books always kept me on edge and was nonstop that these last two books have just done nothing for me. The Casts' spoiled me with the first five books and now i don't want anything less. Overall i have decided to wait for reviews of the next book Awakened to see what other's have to say. Once i have read a few reviews then i will determine if i am going to buy the book new or wait for one of the used books for 5 or 6 dollars. I really want to stick with this series so i am trying.

Burned is burning hot

26th August 2010

The House of Night series has not only been captivating as a whole but has also put another contender in the ring with other popular young adult sci fi writers. Burned is a continuation of the series focusing on the relationship between Stevie Rae and her Raven Mocker. Her relationship grows more complex as time has passed that could seperate her from the other Red Fledglings and her friends. Meanwhile, Zoey's soul is shattered and wishes to stay with her human consort, Heath. The dynamics between all the characters are well written and not only amusing to read but leave you wanting more with each page. It is a definate must read for those who enjoy Sci Fi or vampire novels.
